Farewell party: Julia Yongue

Prof. Julia Yongue has been visiting at the Institut d’Asie Orientale for four months as part of her sabbatical leave from Hosei University. Her work deals with issues in the history of health and medicine, with a focus on vaccine. Julia took advantage of her stay in France to conduct both documentary research and interviews with various actors in the field of vaccine.

On the eve of her departure from France — Julia will continue her sabbatical leave at Harvard University next year — Yveline Lecler organized an informal farewell party at her home in the Monts d’or countryside. A group of IAO  fellows got together to wish Julia « bonne route » and to give her a souvenir from IAO.

Le Dictionnaire les Mots de la Ville en langue chinoise a été le fruit d’une collaboration entre IAO et les Académies des sciences sociales de Tianjin et de Shanghai. Il recense environ 200 mots utilisés par les citadins dans l’objectif de décrire les changements  sociaux et politiques dans les villes chinoises depuis le milieu du 19e siècle jusqu’à nos jours…
